I recently tried to save an AVI file from some recent video data to My Documents. I selected the date and time, and there was viewable data present, but all I got was an AVI Save End message. However, I also tried to save some data recorded quite a while ago, and that worked fine! What is the problem?
This problem is a known bug with EX Series (Standard) DVRs that have multiple hard drives. Data recorded on the second hard drive is not able to be exported to an AVI file, while any data recorded on the earlier file is viable.
This problem is known to exist with systems that started with the 4.01.02 software (or earlier) and have had subsequent upgrades, but did not delete the video archives when the software was updated. The 4.01.03 upgrade altered the video database archive slightly - systems that installed that update (or a later one) should have DELETED then re-CREATED their video volumes. If this was not done, the current video data archives will need to be DELETED, then re-CREATED, in order to solve the AVI-save issue.
